CentOS 7 & Debian 10 Removal Notice

CentOS 7 is a bit of a legend in the hosting industry, having been released all the way back in 2014, and yet it still receives security updates to this day. It has proven extremely stable and secure, and has served its purpose very well.

However, all good things must come to an end, and the lifespan of CentOS 7 is no exception.

It is set to reach End Of Life (EOL) status on June 30, 2024.

Likewise, Debian 10 (not as old as CentOS 7, but still a great Linux distribution) is set to reach EOL status on that same date - June 30th, 2024.

EOL status effectively means that no further security updates will be provided, and as such, we would urge any customers using these templates to upgrade to an alternative distribution.

This announcement serves as a notice to state that Ethernet Servers will be removing both of these templates as of July 1st, 2024.

Customers who run either of these templates will still be able to use them, however they will be removed as options that can be installed (i.e. for those who may wish to reinstall their VPS).

Any questions or concerns can be directed to our customer service, who will be more than happy to help!
